How to judge the result

Do not listen only to the first verse. The chorus usually has more layers, more effects and louder vocals, so it is the best stress test. Use headphones and listen for three things: leftover lead vocal, watery cymbals and missing bass. A small amount of ghost vocal may still be usable for karaoke or practice, but it may not work for professional release.

Small fixes after separation

If the instrumental is close but not perfect, a light EQ pass can help. Reduce harsh frequencies around the vocal range, lower any piercing reverb tail and avoid over-compressing the output. Heavy cleanup can make the instrumental sound worse, so compare against the original often.

Practical rule: if the chorus sounds usable at normal listening volume, the track is probably good enough for practice, rehearsal and most social video edits.
